Ten years ago Tony said to me, ‘I’ve decided to go for better, rather than more.’
Early in his career, my client had encountered a choice that many do not experience until much later.
It boiled down to noting that he already had Enough. That was a tough insight, as he was neck deep in a wildly exciting world of ambition. He could have simply kept going.
Enough, as an idea to act upon, is enabling. It gives you freedom. It gives your access to a carer that makes life better, not just bigger. Enough, as a prompt to action, is also embedded in realities. That we have finite resources and finite time. That systems are cycles, not straight lines
Enough means we can develop a sustainable, satisfying life that fits with the ecology we live in.
The irony is that from the moment he had discovered ‘enough’ and would aim for ‘better’, Tony created a business that has thrived while changing people’s lives for the better.
Do you have the courage to do this? To declare you have ‘Enough’ and will aim for ‘Better’?
