Lawyers weekly podcast - When lawyers turn 60
Jun 09, 2026
I had the pleasure of joining Lawyers Weekly Show to record a podcast on the issues facing lawyers in their 60s.
Some of the issues are universal to the profession and contributed to my thinking on the need for a Continuation paradigm in shaping partner careers in a firm. And some are specific to the way work is organised in the legal profession.

Fortunately, thriving in your 60s just requires some reflection on what's important and an open conversation with the firm's leadership about the strongest contribution you can make. It comes down to understanding and accepting how you've grown, and seeing how the 60s are different for some very real reasons.
We discussed how we change in our 60s, the impact of the work pattern in law and the importance of having reflective space to design a healthy exit - or a new level of contribution.
I've often worked with partners (and their firm's leadership) on how to thrive in this exciting phase of a professional career, so contact me directly if you'd like a free exploratory conversation on the strategies you can adopt.
